6th grade students will be assigned lockers upon finalization of the instrument testing process and will not need to bring this form back until assigned an instrument.
The school provides storage space for instruments to be kept in the band room during the school day. Students are required to use the storage lockers during school hours. To insure the safety of the student's instruments, his/her instrument should remain in the band room locker, locked and secured during school hours. Every effort is made to insure security of these instruments; however, the school, district, band director, and administration may not be held liable in the event of damage, loss, or theft of an instrument. The band room is locked when not in use. The district has provided a security system to help protect instruments and the contents of the band room when school is not in session; however, it is not recommended that students leave instruments at school over night. It is also recommended that the students name, address, and phone number should be visibly located on the instrument case. Locker assignments for 7th and 8th grade students will be made during the first week of classes. A simple combination lock should be purchased for security. Please no key locks.
Locks should be purchased before Friday August 20th (7th & 8th grade only). If a lock is not purchased by this time, points will be deducted from their daily grade.
I have read and understand the policy concerning storage of band instruments at school.
